FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Q. “I thought AKC Judges were not allowed to solicit/advertise. Have policies changed?”

Michael LeavittA. Yes!  In November 2010, AKC modified their policy that previously prohibited AKC© Judges from soliciting and advertising for assignments. AKC© Judges can now solicit and advertise to gain judging assignments. This includes print and online websites and publications. The AKC judging community may be a little gun shy because this is a new way of doing business, but don’t let this stop you from being proactive and taking advantage of this great, new opportunity to advertise your judging abilities. This wonderful change in policy allows AKC© Judges the option to promote themselves in an online environment where Kennel Club representatives can learn more about their judging background in order to make a better decision as to whether or not to invite them to judge their show.
